DYNAMIC Animations - THE BANANA BOAT RIDE
Setting the tone for the entire commercial was the lively scene of our hero, Capri Sun, being towed on a banana boat. This was quite a technical sequence:
Complex Interactions: The boat, with five distinct characters onboard, demanded precise interactions. Each character needed to react naturally to the boat's motion, with four of them holding onto the boat in a natural way.
Water Dynamics: Upon reading the brief, we immediately understood that creating a believable world was paramount. We quickly realized that the water itself would become our sixth character. To achieve a realistic interplay between the water, the boat, and the island, we consulted with our Houdini experts. They skillfully crafted the perfect balance of waves and whitewater, striking a harmony between fun and believability.
TECHNICAL INTRICACIES - THE SUGAR DISPENSER FALL
The sugar dispenser's fall was a standout sequence, symbolizing Capri Sun's new sugar-free option. This required a deep dive into the technical realm:
The Water interacted with the Island which was built out of real Sand grains. The landing of the dispenser on the island wasn't just an ordinary event. It instigated a realistic sand simulation, emphasizing the weight and the after-effects of the fall.
Filling the sugar dispenser were grains simulated using Houdini, ensuring realistic motion and dispersion upon impact.
Character Development - A Pineapple's Journey
Our pineapple character underwent a significant evolution. It needed to be as realistic as possible while having a broad smile and big eyes. From initial sketches to final animation, we focused on giving this character a unique quirky personality that contributed humor and charm to the overall narrative.
